MPSI Planning Committee
Each sponsoring organization provides a representative on the MPSI planning committee. In addition, each MPSI graduating class submits a candidate to serve on the planning committee.
Planning Committee Member Responsibilities (This includes class representatives.)
Attend planning meetings and provide guidance for program content.

  • Assist with locating subject matter experts to serve as presenters at the institute.
  • Represent the sponsoring organization at the institute. (For example: attend the entire event, attend the orientation session, serve as a panelist or a presenter or attend the awards banquet.)
  • Expenses associated with traveling and attending MPSI meetings and the institute are the responsibility of the organization represented.

 Class Representatives on the Planning Committee
Serve on the planning committee for three years following graduation
Attend one face to face planning meeting and provide guidance for program content. (usually held in the fall in Fenton)

  • Participate in conference calls, respond to emails and calls as necessary throughout the year.
  • Assist with locating subject matter experts to serve as presenters at the institute.
  • Promote MPSI and encourage members of your class to attend Advanced Institute as graduates of the program, as well as the executive level class.
  • Team up/meet with other Class Representatives to make decisions on the scholarship fund that is accumulated by donations from participants. This includes but is not limited to decisions about whether to continue to collect for scholarships, how to promote the Class Scholarships and how to distribute. (The fund currently has over $6000 in contributions and has had limited distribution.)
  • Represent your class at the institute. For example: attend the entire event, attend the orientation session, serve as a panelist or a presenter, and attend the awards banquet.

 Class Representatives responsibilities at Institute

  • Assist in running the hospitality suite
  • Saying a few words at graduation
  • Collection for wait staff
  • Point of contact for Mary & Lew
    • Serving as a liaison between the class, Lew, Mary, and or members of the committee
    • Spokesperson to plan any meetings with the class and coordinate with Lew to announce class meeting

Employer responsibilities

  • Employer should be supportive of the representative and submit a letter stating they agree to the following responsibilities:
    • Grant time off for attending institute and planning committees
    • Employer is responsible for the following expenses: Lodging, travel expenses associated with attending planning meetings and the institute. Meals that may not be associated with attending the planning meeting and the institute, meals that are not included with MPSI classes. For example: dinner on Monday, lunch and dinner on Wednesday are not included
    • Class representatives and committee members are expected to attend the full week
  • Committee members are expected to attend the full week, however; sign up and pay for three (3) days if possible. This covers the cost of the meals, class materials, and the MPSI shirt
